Lately I have been expanding my food horizons and trying out some new recipes. Some are old favourites that I haven’t made in a long time, and others are new attempts. But all of them were tasty and photo worthy
I am so lucky to live with a roommate who indulges my love for cooking and encourages me. For example:
Me: “I’m not sure the recipe turned out like it’s supposed to…”
Her:”You say that every time, and every time it’s really good.”
Perhaps I have too much angst.
I am also so happy to have met the M. family from Colombia. It’s fun to share some of my baking and cooking exploits with them, as well as to try some tasty typical Colombian cuisine. They are so hospitable and very generous with their compliments. Last Saturday we made their first pâté chinios (kind of like shepherd’s pie but no pie crust) and they were so delighted. A fairly simple recipe that brings much enjoyment. Now I’m considering what other typical Québecois dishes I can introduce…perhaps something that involves maple syrup

Typical rice dish…of course, I’m just being introduced to one family so it’s probably not the same everywhere ![]()
Well, that’s all for now. Thanks for reading!!
À la prochaine
